Lume on iPhone
Lume runs on iPhone as well as Mac. The iPhone app is complete on its own - you do not need a Mac to use it - and if you use both, one purchase and optional sync tie them together.
One purchase, both devices
Lume is a single purchase on the App Store that covers Mac and iPhone. Buy it on either, and download it on the other with the same Apple ID at no extra cost.
What is on the iPhone
- The monthly close, all four steps - Statements, Categorise, Type and Confirm - including importing a statement, fetching month-end prices and recording trades.
- Dashboard - net worth, FIRE milestones, spending and income, and your portfolio.
- Months - every month, with what each still needs. Tap a month to read it, and use Edit with its name (Edit August) to change a confirmed one.
- Scenarios - create and edit them, and see when you could reach each milestone.
- Accounts - add and edit accounts and asset classes, and each account’s trades.
- Categories - under Settings → Monthly close → Categories, with your statement rules.
- Settings - FIRE targets, appearance, sync, and an optional Face ID lock under Settings → Privacy.
Files on the iPhone
From Lume 1.5 the iPhone does file work too, through the Files picker and the share sheet:
- Importing and exporting months as CSV, and the CSV template.
- Importing a bank statement - CSV, Excel (.xlsx), OFX, QFX or, from Lume 2.2.1, a text PDF - so its lines give the account’s balances and the month’s income and spending.
- From Lume 2.0, opening a statement in Lume straight from Files, Mail or your bank’s app.
- Importing and exporting an account’s trades as CSV.
- Exporting and restoring a JSON backup.
Pick a file from wherever it is - iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, or another app - and it is read on the phone. Exports go through the share sheet, so you can save them to Files, AirDrop them, or send them on. With sync turned on, anything you import on one device reaches the other.
Using both
Turn on sync on each device with the same email and passphrase - see Sync, Recovery, and Deleting Your Account. Your months, accounts, statement lines, categories and rules, scenarios and settings then stay the same on both, end-to-end encrypted. A few settings belong to one device and are not synced: whether it stays unlocked, and the Face ID lock.
